The ‘Churches Project’ was begun in 2015, the brief being to ‘create a photographic record of all churches in Lincolnshire and produce a display of prints to be shown to the public’.
This was a huge undertaking, considering that there are around 770 churches within the County. A total of 1080 images were submitted by club members out of which 43 churches were selected and a panel of prints was created for each of those churches.
Co-ordinators for this project were David Piper and Alastair Scammell, assisted by other members on an ‘as and when’ basis.
Sponsors included Paper Spectrum, who provided paper for the prints and Terravesta who supplied other items used for the panels.
In September 2018 the 43 print panels were displayed in the Chapter House at Lincoln Cathedral. A list of churches included can be found HERE.
The churches selected had prints showing a mix of external and internal views printed in colour with black mounts. Sample shown.
